Here are some ways to celebrate Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month!


May is Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month! It is celebrated in May as it recognizes the first documented Japanese immigrants to the United States in 1843 and the contributions of Chinese immigrants to the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad in 1867. Here are a few ways you can celebrate across the Volunteer State!



West Tennessee


Check out AAPI Heritage Month Memphis for a full roster of events! Be sure to drop by one of The Hungry Tiger Food Tour stops during the month or go through to one of the bakeries on the Asian Bakery Crawl.



Middle Tennessee



Join API Middle Tennessee for one of two free events! You can find them at the Frist Museum for the 5th Annual API Heritage Month Arts Festival or join API Murfreesboro for a day a free community day at the Discovery Center.



East Tennessee


The Knox AAPI Business Association is hosting their first Asian Restaurant week from May 18th to May 24th. Visit their website or check out their Instagram page for more information to learn more about the participating East Tennessee Asian-owned businesses.
