Statement on the Georgia ICE Raids

API Tennessee condemns the ICE raids at the Hyundai plant in Georgia that occurred on September 4, 2025. The arrest of 475 individuals, mostly South Korean nationals, will have far-reaching effects on these individuals, their families, and local businesses.
As an organization fighting for racial justice, we believe that the South should be a place where everyone is safe and welcomed, regardless of their status. This workplace raid targeted community members that were supporting families and building a better future. We recognize that this raid is part of an ongoing attack on our civil liberties and the safety of our institutions. Our workplaces, schools, and neighborhoods should be places where communities are built, not torn apart.
